Benefits of mentha arvensis include treatment for abdominal pain, cramps, constipation, diarrhea, dysentery, flatulence, indigestion, loss of appetite and worms. It can also be taken in combination with other herbs like garlic to treat stomach ulcers or with ginger to relieve nausea. Finally it can be used as a remedy for excessive mucus secretion. The menthol found in M. arvensis can also help to alleviate stress by enhancing production of neurotransmitters associated with pain, anxiety, stress, tension, muscle spasms and headaches. Overall, there are few scientifically proven benefits to using M. arvensis but it is a relatively safe remedy that could potentially yield some positive results.
